Hmmm! Good Question
It has been while since I posted something. The personal life has been busy for me, but I just want to give an update on my progress for Purr Island. Right now the first draft is finish, however I am included a bonus chapter  to give updates on the characters and what are they doing now.

"So C. S. Dorsey when will Purr Island be released?" Hmmm good question, and I cannot answer that right now. I am shooting for the end of December began of January. My main focus is to make sure that everything look and sounds perfect before I release it. I will not rush this one.

I want to thank those who have been supporting me and my books. There are more to come.

Thanks

I've Had A Few!
It's been a long while since I have blogged. I've had a few...meaning I have had writers block. It's like the story is right on the tip of my tongue, and I know where I am going with the story. However, I think that since I have writing two book back to back my brain is telling me that I need to go sit down some where. Strangely enough I did not listen to my brain and wined up getting ill for 2 weeks. You would think the flu would have slowed me down...and yes it did. I took off from work to get my system back in order, and my brain to working proper.

I know what you all are thinking...when is Purr Island coming out? Well that is a good question. And the answer is before Christmas. So that mean I need to hustle up on my writing and try to get a least 5k words in a week. Which is a very low goal. Normally I could do 10k a week on a good week ;).

So in conclusion I need to get back in the game and clear my head. In the mean time I got a new bed. Check it out below...

Blood Of A Wolf (The Lukos Trilogy Book #2)

Life couldn’t get any worse when Alejandro found out he was a Lukos (wolf). All he wanted was to be a normal teenager with a hormonal imbalance. However, there is one minor detail that Vora (the Cerna Kocka leader) has failed to mention about the Lukos, and that is Heath the Lukos leader. Turning into a Lukos is the last thing on Alejandro’s mind when he finds that Heath is more than just a wolf with a hunger to kill and conquer. Alejandro finds himself on a mental rollercoaster ride as he struggles with his present and future life having the blood of a wolf. A Lukos novella.

Whats Happening?
Its been a little while since I have blogged. Just to give everyone an update The Antidote has been doing well. I have been getting questions on Facebook asking me if there is going to be a sequel? Lets just YES! There is going to be a second book (Blood of a Wolf). In fact there will be three books total. I have decided to turn The Antidote into a trilogy "The Lukos Trilogy."

Let me say this first that I was not planning on publishing this book let alone making it a series. How the book came about was simply and joke and about my friend and her husband. I would tease them and say I need to write a book about you two and your forbidden love for each other. So I started writing about a boy name Alejandro and a girl name Francesca. Then all of a sudden the story just took off.

Note to inspiring writers: If something come to you that sounds far fetch...WRITE ABOUT IT! You just never know.

On Cloud 9
I am really happy that my second book, The Antidote (novella) is now finish and live for purchase. The next novel will be Bloody Rose. I will take my time on this one because I am dealing with different personalities. But with God and my editor on my side I will be able to get the job done. My mom was the one that suggest I write Bloody Rose it actually was a short story and I had no plans on turning it into a book. Well mom though other wise, and of course mother knows best right? She keep saying that its her book. I just hope she don't sue me...LOL!! Love you mom!

Summer 2011 Book: The Antidote (teen-paranormal romance)
I am so happy I received my book back early from my editor. Now all I have to is go over the edits, add a few things, and it is off to be released July 11, 2011.

I had fun writing this book. I have never planned on creating a paranormal romance for teens. This book was totally out of my genre but I decided to take on the challenge.

I hope everyone likes it, and the next time I post will be to announce that it is available for purchase.

Check me out as I talk about my current book The Unsacred Gift

Let me know what you think!!

Monthly News!
So, I am super excited about my new novella The Anitdote. But I am nervous at the sometime because this is my first paranormal romance for the YA genre, and I don't know how the teens will react to it. Beside the cute guy on the cover :). I was a little skeptical about releasing the novella because it was just for fun, however I told myself "Candice...you never know."

Bloody Rose is in its early stages. I will be spending the rest of the year writing this one. I love suspense so I want to make sure my readers are on the edge of their seats when they read it. I think the characters that I have developed is a great cast, and I hope everyone enjoys reading them :)

In other news I need a vacation from my job...again. Yes, I know I just had one two weeks ago, but I need another one. I put in my request for September, so I hope I get approved. This will allow me some time to myself. I have been dreaming of going to the Berkeley Marina to seat in front of the water with my lap top, digging my toes in the sand. I think I will do that this go round.

This is me!!! I wish...LOL!

Review: Midnight and the Meaning of Love
Midnight and the Meaning of Love

Sister Souljah, the New York Times bestselling author of The Coldest Winter Ever and Midnight, delivers her most compelling and enlightening story yet. With Midnight and The Meaning of Love, Souljah brings to her millions of fans an adventure about young, deep love, the ways in which people across the world express their love, and the lengths that they will go to have it.
Powerful and sensual, Midnight is an intelligent, fierce fighter and Ninjutsu-trained ninja warrior. He attracts attention wherever he goes but remains unmoved by it and focuses on protecting his mother and sister and regaining his family’s fortunes. When Midnight, a devout Muslim, takes sixteen-year-old Akemi from Japan as his wife, they look forward to building a life together, but their tumultuous teenage marriage is interrupted when Akemi is kidnapped and taken back to Japan by her own father, even though the marriage was consummated and well underway.
“There’s not one drop of inferiority in my blood,” Midnight says as he first secures his mother, Umma, and sister, Naja, before setting off on a global journey to reclaim his wife. Midnight must travel across three countries and numerous cultures in his attempt to defeat his opponent. Along this magnificent journey he meets people who change him forever, even as he changes them. He encounters temptations he never would have imagined and takes risks that many a lesser man would say no to, all for the women he loves and is sworn to protect.

Review: I was not planing on writing a reviewing on this book, but since I just finished it I guess I should since it is fresh in my mind. OK, so I read the first book Midnight and this one is the squeal to the first one. All I have to say is if you like long drawn out books this is the book for you. I had to put it down a few times because I got bored with it. No kidding. But this book was good as far as learning different cultures our than the american culture. Japanese, Korean, and Sudanese cultures were the highlight of this book. Honestly...the first one was better. It had more excitement. Would I recommend this book? Yes I would to other people whom are into great details and long books.

Had To Post This!!!
I am a huge Twilight fan and I had to post the movie trailer to Breaking Dawn Part 1

Summer 2011 Book: The Antidote
Hello all,

I was not planning on publishing this book. It is called The Antidote which is a novella that I had wrote just for fun. But because I have added more to it and gave it a proper ending I convinced myself to publish it. I am in the process of polishing it up and then I will send it off to my editor.

Here is a new summer book by C. S. Dorsey

The Antidote

Sneak Peek: Alejandro Calderon is your average teenager, but when Francesca Rivera walks in his government class his life is suddenly thrown off. Who is this girl that has captured his attention with her mysterious looks? He makes every effort to get Francesca’s attention, but she is there for one thing only and that is to protect Alejandro from the Lukos (wolves) army. Francesca has no choice but to tell Alejandro who he really is as things take a turn for the worst.

Indie Books Rock!

From now on I am definitely going to read indie authors books. Just finish reading The Ultimate Sacrifice by Talia Jager, and what a great read. I felt like I was there in the book and feeling what the character was feeling. I have not really been able to finish a book in a while because the author have not captured my attention, but I must say this one have. It's a must read.

Twilight Dream? or Twilight Zone
So I had this dream one night that a wrote a book. And it was a good and about 300 pages or more. I am sitting there with this agent and he looked at the book back and forth. Then he put the book down and lean back in his chair and says, "This is a good book, but you need to write about vampires and werewolves." I was baffled by this comment. So I just looked a him and said, "vampires and werewolves are obsolete." Then he comes back at me and says, "Rather you like it or not its the thing now and you need to start writing about it." By this time in my dream, I became upset. Who was he to tell me about I want I need to write, and what will sale and not sale. I politely got up from my chair and said, "I will never write about vampires and werewolves." Heck I don't even know if I am spelling it right.

Then I woke up...

I wanted to stick to my guns about the vampires and werewolves thing that I made it forbidden in my mind. Yes it was forbidden alright. So forbidden that I had to write about it. Then I couldn't stop. Next thing I knew I start writing about Francesca and Alejandro's forbidden love. It is a short story at about 12k words. Oh did I mention its about a wolf...oops!

Goodreads Review!
"This novel was astonishing. It starts off at at fast pace and continues to progress with a bigger question layered on top of the other.
It has a lot of great aspects to the story: love, suspense, family.
Although I felt that the end was rushed. It was a good ending but it felt like 'Bam' thats it.
Other than that it was a wonderful novel, I highly recommend it to everyone.
I give it a 4/5."

First Public Appearance & Book Signing!
Tomorrow will be my first public appearance and book signing for The Unsacred Gift. I am so excited. I had 2 book signings in one last week April 30, 2011. The first one was for a book club. They asked some really good questions that I was not prepared for, but I was able to answer them. The main question I knew everyone was going to ask was "when is the next book coming out?" I think this is a great question that I have been asked on so many occasions. And the answer I give them is YES! there is another book coming soon (not the sequel). The squeal will come out next year some time.

But in other news here is a peek of the event I will be promoting my book.

Pray for me! And wish me luck!

For some reason or another I think my e-book on Kindle is inactive. I mean I have not had any sales. Maybe they will calculate them at the end of the month. Or maybe I ticked Kindle Publishing off for uploading and downloading my book to many times before I published it :(

Whatever it is Kindle I am sorry. Please forgive me!!!

The Unsacred Gift Book Trailer
What Now?
Now that I have taking a small break from writing (not really), I have came up with some really great ideas. There is one project that I have gone back and forth with trying to figure out if I want to make it a short story, or a novella. Currently at 12k words I don't think it will be a short story so that is out. It looks like making it a novella won.

The goal for May 2011 is to FINISH! I plan to release the new project this summer. Keep your fingers cross. we will see :)

Reviewing Paperback
For the third time I have review my proof. As never racking as it has been, I think the paperback format is in good condition. I cannot wait to announce when it will be ready for purchase. But for now it is on Kindle and NOOK for purchase.

I was literally in tears today going through my proof and I keep finding little things wrong. But I thank my mother for her words of wisdom. "It will be OK. Take your time. You will be happy later on." She always have a way of calming me down. And thats why the book is dedicated to her :)

Love you mom!!! :)

Book Teaser
A lot of people ask me all the time what is my book about? And in very few words I describe as much as I can without giving all the details. I figure it is better to show you then to tell you. So what I have decided to do was create a Book Teaser tab. This is give a little pick of my book without giving the goods.

I hope everyone enjoy my Book Teaser tab!

Finally!!!
So I finally figured out how to change my word doc into a PDF without going through the actual Acrobat website. It was a little complicated but I finally figured it out. I am satisfied with my book and the format. Now I'm just wait for the second proof to arrive, and it is off to be distribute on Amazon and other places.

I have schedule a first book signing with a local book club. One of my church members asked if I would come and bring my book to do a signing. I though to myself, this is weird, but ok.

My next stop after that will be a Mother's Day comedy fest that a co-worker of mine puts on every year. She asked me to be one of the vendors for her show. She said, "I want you to bring your book, and your jewelry too." Wow! How will I jungle the two?

Oh well better get use to it :)

Short Stories
I have a million ideas going on in my head, but those ideas do not make it to the standerd novel word count. So what I have decided to do is create a short story of the month. This is to give my readers something to look forward to while waiting for the next masterpeice.

I love to write and I feel like if I do not get these stories out of my head, I will go nuts. So starting April I will post a short story in the beginning of the month.

Be on the look out for the short story of the month.

C.S.
Ugh!!
So I go through the necessary correction for my proof, and I found that the chapters are off. Ugh! Dangit PDF. Now I have to figure out a way to upload a PDF file in a 5x8 format rather than a 8x5.

I am here to help others. Because when your doing things yourself the computer lingo that self publish websites (Createspace) use is like a foreign language.

Thank God for Google. :)

I just recived my proof today. I am really happy about the way everything is going so far. Looking at my proof, the melt downs were worth it ;-) . I have to make a few corrections and adjustments. Once I make those corrections then the book will be ready on paperback.

This is so fun!!

As a new author and being self published, I really didn't know the importance of tags. Like some who are in the dark about tags like I am, it is key words for your book when customers are browsing book categories. I was told the more you have the more likely your book will come up. I tried it...and beleive it or not it was true. Tell me what you think about TAGS?

The Wonderful World Of Electronics

So I finally bought a new phone. And the reason for this is because when I get off of work all I want to do is write and go to sleep. I spend on average three hours per day (after work) being on the internet and not in my word document. Now with my new phone I can check email, blog, and continue to post on the social network sites. Ahh! Yes the wonderful world of electronics.

So today was suppose to be my day off form the computer. I was going to take a break for a few days. It seems as thought it is impossible to break away from my computer. Every time I looked at my laptop sitting there looking lonely I can't help but pick it up. And then I open it. Its really hard. But I need to take a few days off from it. I will give it 2 days at the most after tonight.

Brain Cells
After going to work, coming home to change my bed clothes, and trying to spread the word about my book my brains cells are completely burnt out today. I wrote about two pages today for my next project, but I wish I had more time. My deadline for the first part of this book is the beginning of April (my personal deadline). Now thats before the editing and revisions. It will take me till the end of April to complete that. This series will be short. Once I get half way through it (which I'm almost there), I will post a mini synopsis of the first book.

For now my goal is to get it done.

Give Me A Drink Of Water
"Some people say that when one life ends another begins. Not necessarily the beginning of life like a new born child, but a the rebirth of one’s self. I ask myself if she was still here will I be the woman that I am today? I sometimes still have dreams about her. And in those dreams everything is normal, but then I wake up. In my heart she is still with me, and all I can do is hear her say, “Give me a drink of water.'"

Give Me A Drink of Water is a story that I wrote in college about my grandmother who pass away in 1999. My instructor absolutely loved it and so did my class. I decided to pull it out, revise it, and turn it into a short story. The only problem is...I don't know where I put it!

Life Goes On...
Now that I have completed my Createspace process of getting my cover and interior approved. I am now waiting for my proof. Everything is set in place, and now I can rest and let my readers take over.

On to my next book.

To Blog or Not to Blog...
Thats not a question.

Now that my book is available on Smashwords and Kindle, and in the process on NOOK and Paperback, I can sleep at night now. I can finally get back to my life. You know the usual wash clothes and clean my room, but most importantly I can get back to writing. I miss it and I love it. I am currently working on a project which I cannot reveal the title yet. It is a special gift for some people I know. So, I will keep it a secret so that I might finish it. I am half way there. I hope to finish it at the end of spring. I will keep you posted.

Slow Down? I Think Not!!!
People always tell me to slow down you have too many things going on. I say why? What for? Then they look at me with a baffled look on their face. I say if the big name star can get away with having there own books, clothes and jewelry, then why can't I?

See what I mean. Slow Down? I think not!!
